ARTIST STATEMENT

I explore form, texture, motion, nature, color, and the freedom to create something from within myself.

I believe that abstract painting is the most expressive vehicle for what I have to say.

I believe a painting is a deeply personal reflection of one’s being beyond notions of right or wrong.

In my exploration, I employ mixed media, including acrylics, charcoals and pastels.

I have traveled throughout the world, yet find much of my inspiration from my experiences growing up and living in Buffalo, New York.

I have demonstrated my artistic talents, exhibiting in numerous solo and group shows, have won many prizes, and am featured in private and public collections.

I am active in the Western New York art community.

I was quite taken back by this painting for not only the impressive handling of the medium, but because I saw more depth and new imagery in the composition each time I revisited it.
